| To say that Amanda Blank is a bit of a spitfire would be a terrific understatement. To say that she is a rapping, singing, dancing, laughing, nonstop-talking, one-woman party machine might be more accurate. A frequent co-conspirator of Santigold, Spank Rock, and M.I.A., the Philly-based musician has come into her own with I Love You (Downtown Records, 2009) —a confectionery offering of club-approved summertime rap jams and seamless, goofball pop music. " It took me a long time to figure out how to write a song," the 26-year-old Blank says. " I was so used to working with other people, it took a minute to sort out exactly what I wanted to say. Mostly, I wanted to make a record for girls like me . . . or really for girls and gay boys. I never understood those girls who didn't really like other girls. Not me—I've got, like, 50,000 superclose girlfriends. This record is for them." Sure enough, favorite topics throughout I Love You include makeup, breakups, and hooking up. Shameless booty calls ("Lemme Get Some") cozy up to sweaty electro bangers ("Something Bigger, Something Better") as well as a few thoughtful heartbreakers (including "Leaving You Behind" featuring Lykke Li). Slinging back a vodka and Red Bull and frantically puffing a cigarette before a recent New York City performance, Blank admits that she's not always the coolest girl when it comes to the stage. " I'm always a little bit nervous," she says, " I don't have any backup dancers. I don't have flashy bullshit—it's just me and a microphone. This time I'm alone up there, so I gotta be sellin' the shit out of these songs no matter what." Source- Music:Amanda Blank x Fedde Le Grand - Baby Think Of Something Better

| hi guys, im adding a rule to the community because im seeing a trend and i need it to stop.
if you are posting something to the community, put some effort in. i see some posts come through the queue that have some great html, good commentary, etc, and it reminds me of when the community first started. this is what every post should look like.
PLEASE DO NOT POST SOMETHING THAT CONTAINS JUST A LINK AND A SENTENCE SAYING "thoughts?" or "how do you feel about this?".
actually, both the above things are fine, as long as you put the actual text from the peice into your post.
dont be lazy!
i want discussion to be spurred here, but its really annoying when i have to click a link to see the piece being discussed! its really not hard to copy/paste the text into the html box before you press submit. if you are too lazy, let someone else post it. if you are unsure of how html works or maybe dont want it to be so long you need to cut it because cuts are finicky, then i am more than willing to help you! just send me a pm.

| Hey everyone,
I've come for some advice. I've had the same UTI for over a month now and it won't seem to go away. I've taken Cipro, Macrobid, and now I'm on Bactrim. I've been to three different doctors, including a urologist, and none of them can figure out what's up.
Has anyone else been through this? Is it really possible to treat naturally? Should I be concerned? It's so stressful and frustrating.
Thanks <3 | |

| hey everyone, i'm new to the comm.
my name is jessica, i'm 19 and i hail from australia!
i've been thinking for a while how a lady gaga frangrance would smell, and how the bottle would be.
i came to the conclusion that it'd smell of lavender, ginger tea, vanilla bean, strawberry and peppercorn.
in my mind, the bottle would look like gaga's head, with an extravigant headpeace for the lid.
what are your ideas? :) - Mood:sleepy

| So, I have posted here before about having problems with painful sex (previous posts here and here). I wanted to post again to provide what is hopefully the conclusion of my story, in case it's useful for anyone else. After the gyno said I had to go to psychosexual counselling, I returned to my GP. She didn't feel that full-scale counselling was necessary in my case, but she did decide to send me for cognitive behavioural therapy. I had my first session in early January and am expecting to have my last session next month. It has been very helpful. I am feeling better in myself and more relaxed. After a couple of sessions I no longer felt so ashamed or upset about the vaginismus, and I didn't feel like I was defective. For this alone, I think it was worth going to CBT -- I still had the problem, but I didn't feel so bad about it. But the aim of the therapy was to actually cure the condition, and I'm pleased to report that this week my partner and I successfully had sex for the first time in over a year. There was some pain at first, but we took it very slowly, with him backing out every time it was uncomfortable, and finally it didn't hurt at all, and... it was a lot of fun :) I know that the problem might not be completely gone yet, and I know that this approach won't work for everyone. And I certainly don't want to criticise dilators or physical therapy or any of the other treatments people use; I didn't try them, and they might well have worked too. But I think it's important to know that CBT does work for some people, and can be an option worth considering. - Mood:accomplished

| Mr.Nice: Howard Marks was thee hashish dealer of his time. He traveled the world smuggling from and to anywhere that had or needed dope. He was either a spy and dealt closely with the governments of every major world power, or was a convincing liar, or both. Howard was a man of many names, many passions and many woes. He is portrayed by Rhys Ifans and his story is told by writer-director-cinematographer-editor Bernard Rose. ( more ) | |

| "Glee" may leap off the screen and into theatres. Music Theatre International, which licenses performance rights of Broadway titles from Legally Blonde to Fiddler on the Roof, is in talks to bring the hit FOX series to the stage. MTI chairman Freddie Gershon told Playbill.com that "The 'Glee' deal is in negotiations. We're exploring a collaborative venture with Fox and 'Glee.' We just think it's a natural." Gershon also revealed that a Junior version of The Little Mermaid was in the works, as well as Avenue G, which he characterized as "the G version of Avenue Q, with no full-frontal puppet nudity." MTI has had great success licensing Disney's High School Musical and its sequel, as well as the Broadway hit Rent. The company also holds the rights to Wicked, Hairspray and Spring Awakening, which will be available for license in the future.

Michael Moore talks about "Roger and Me" at 20th anniversary screening at U-M
On this year's Oscar contenders: "I did not like ‘The Hurt Locker.’ It’s a lazy way to make a movie, frankly. I could put you on the edge of your seat quite easily, and have you feel the tension for 2 hours, if every other scene practically is, 'Should we cut the red wire or the green wire?' And if he cuts the wrong wire, he gets blown to smithereens, and you never know who’s going to get blown up in any given second. That doesn’t take a whole lot of skill to get big emotion out of this if you’re in the audience. And there’s a pornographic element to it that’s a little disturbing because you can’t take your eyes off it. But what’s it saying? What’s the substance of this? I think ‘Avatar’ was really trying to say something about the planet, about indigenous people, and about how we construct war now, how we privatize it. And I think these are really powerful things to say in this time, and I give James Cameron a lot of credit." ( Read more but a bit tl;dr )Not that it matters, but I completely disagree and think Cameron was the lazy one as he used 3D to cover up a recycled plot. | |

The Final Destination is not the final chapter in the series.
Today, at ShoWest in Las Vegas, ComingSoon.net sat in on Warner Bros.' The Big Picture presentation during which the studio's Alan Horn confirmed a fifth "Final Destination" film is in the works.
Each film in the series continues to be a financial success for the company. The Final Destination, which hit theaters last year in 3D, grossed $66 million domestically but made $180 million worldwide.
The last entry's title sounded so definitive so we're curious to hear what they'll call the next film.

| All those shots of Jesse James looking adoringly at Sandra Bullock from the audience during awards season certainly had us believing they were a great couple. Maybe they were, maybe they weren't. Tattoo model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee, who told InTouch Weekly that she had an affair with the Monster Garage mechanic, had her last sexual encounter with James at least eight months ago at the hotel onboard the historic Queen Mary in Long Beach, claims McGee's close friend and former roommate, Lindsay Sinai, in an exclusive interview with E! News. Sinai, who says she has never met James, heard that he and McGee hooked up romantically only three or four times before their supposed final tryst at the ship's hotel. James, who's been married to Bullock since July 2005, issued a public apology today to the Oscar winner and his three kids from previous marriages in which he said that "the vast majority of the allegations reported are untrue and unfounded." The seemingly remorseful hubby did not, however, specify, Tiger Woods-style, why he is so sorry and deserves "every bad thing that is coming [his] way." | |

| Some of you may remember my post about our little girl Dahlia (long story short, we took her in for an eye injury, had her fixed up, when stitches were removed we learned she has a cancerous tumor). Well so far she doesn't seem to be doing too bad. She doesn't like the other ratties anymore :-/ (Always pickin fights) she's still drinking her water.. but her palate seems to be a lot more picky these days... the only things she'll eat is scrambled eggs, applesauce, bits of cereal, and cheese crackers. (oh, and soy dog food.. we have a fattie dog, and have her on soy dogfood and dahlia LOVES that stuff... ). Is there anything else I can try with her? she won't eat lab blocks, or rattie mixes... there's gotta be something that I'm not thinking of... and you guys always have wonderful suggestions/advice. (I am forever grateful for this community... we love our ratlings and I always seem to learn something new when I read entries... google is your friend but you guys are more awesome than google).
TIA.
